We hope all our members and their families are staying healthy and coping with the ongoing and challenging circumstances surround the Covid-19 pandemic.

We appreciate this is a very difficult time for many members of our rugby family and look forward to a time when we can safely meet up and carry on with normal rugby life.

Unfortunately, this is not going to happen for a while, according to the latest Government, medical and RFU guidelines, which the club is following closely.

Recent changes to lockdown rules have seen people increasing their levels of outside exercise - something the club welcomes, as it allows our members to stay fit and healthy.

But we would like to remind everyone of the following:

The club currently remains closed until further notice. This includes the clubhouse, gym and kit containers, which remain locked with no access permitted.

All pitches on the clubhouse side are off limits. No club members or members of the public should be exercising or walking across any of the pitches clubside. This is private land (with rights of access around the edges of the field). The groundsmen have been seeding the pitches, and exercising here can undo all the hard work they have been putting in. Coaches should remind players that no clubside training should be taking place.

This is an appropriate time to also remind you that no dogs are allowed on our grounds.

Exercising is permitted on Sheep Walk, as long as guidelines are strictly adhered to:

  • Parking is not permitted at Sheep Walk.
  • People should only be exercising on their own or with people from their own household.
  • They can exercise with one other person from outside their own household as long as 2m social distancing rules are closely obeyed. People must use their own equipment (eg tackle bags and rugby balls), which can only be shared between members of the same household.
  • Exercise should not be done in the same place over and over, and should be should ideally be done on areas between the marked pitches to prevent damage to playing areas. If people see ‘tracks’ showing where someone else has exercised, they should move to a different area, to stagger the impact.

Thank you for your co-operation, and please make sure you stay safe and help everyone come out of this crisis all the sooner by adhering to the rules and preventing the spread of the virus.
