Biggleswade’s U14s are celebrating a run of wins in the final stretch of a successful season.
On 13 March, the youth side hosted Fullerians in their last league match. With both sides unbeaten in the league, the game lived up to its high expectations, with Biggy running our 24-21 winners.
On 20 March, Biggleswade hosted Leighton Buzzard in the quarter final of the Beds cup, notching up an emphatic victory. This was followed up in style the next weekend in the semi-final against Stockwood Park, where despite a slow, nervous start against some of their school friends, Biggy won by three clear tries to set up a final against Ampthill.
The last part of these amazing four weeks was Sunday’s semi final of the East Midlands Youth Cup Plate against Daventry with Biggy winning 13-5 to set up a final against Olney or Peterborough.
“The boys have stepped up for each game and played for each other to give us a cracking finish to the season,” said Brad Green, from the U14s coaching team.
Spectators are welcome to come and watch the final at Biggleswade’s Langford Road ground on Sunday 24 April, KO 11am.
