Bishops Stortford U14s 10 - 10 Biggleswade U14s
A squad of 18 boys headed over to Bishops Stortford looking forward to finishing the year unbeaten after an excellent performance against Leighton Buzzard the week before.
The travelling supporters were not disappointed - the final score was a 10-10 draw, but the match - the second half in particular - was arguably the team’s best rugby of the season.
Bishops Stortford had two very quick and agile players in their backs who caused Biggy the most problems and one of them was quick to run in a try soon after kick off, but the team talk at the break was all about how the score did not reflect the play and how there were opportunities for Biggy to up their efforts and take the game to Bishops Stortford.
The red and blues did just that in the second half, applying wave after wave of Biggy pressure, dominating scrums, and turning the ball over time and again - with a well-worked try the team’s just reward. Biggleswade’s U14s dug in for a tough but impressive second half and the draw came.
An excellent match played in a great spirit by the boys. Well done!
