Biggleswade RUFC’s Senior Men’s coaching team has been strengthened for the new season with two new appointments.
Head Coach Matt Skirving has announced new coaching roles for Richard Sinclair and Graham Williams.
“Richard and Graham have both been senior 1st team players for a number of years,” said Matt. “They will both continue to play 1st team rugby when selection dictates but by joining the coaching team ensuring they can pass on their wealth of knowledge to players coming through to play senior rugby this year.
“Rich brings with him his experience from playing rugby at Biggy and from his time at Bedford Tigers Rugby League team, along with his extensive coaching experience as a teacher at Samuel Whitbread Academy. All this experience will help take the back lines for each team to a new level through creative, expansive rugby,” Matt added.
“Graham has played for Biggy for many years. His experience and calm head is clear when ever he plays and I’m sure he will pass this on to new players coming through. Graham is just embarking on his coaching journey and will spend time supporting the second team when he is not playing for the 1st XV.”
Matt said he was excited to see what the new season brings for the senior mens squad. “After double promotion last year - with the 1sts and 2nds both securing promotion - we start the season on a high. Preparation and pre-season has gone well, even with the hot temperatures.”
Training is open to all men 18+ on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (7pm - 8:30pm). New players are always welcome.
