Biggleswade Rugby Club are sad to announce the passing of Ex club captain Roy Greer.
Those wishing to attend the funeral of Roy Greer, the details are as follows:
Monday the 17th of July at 13:00 North Hertfordshire Memorial Park & Crematorium
Followed by the celebration of his life at Biggleswade Rugby & Squash Club.
Family flowers only, but donations Alzheimer’s Association via G & H Seamers, Sandy.Roy had two spells as captain 1983-1985 and 1989-90. A good goal kicker, he was a player who could play anywhere in the back line but preferred fly half if given a choice.
He started his career at Biggleswade, but had trials at Northampton and Bedford before playing at Kettering before returning to his home club. A very individual and talented runner who never believed in running in straight lines and caused frustration to coaches and teammates whenever he played. His outrageous dummies were still being bought as he continued playing with the 3rd’s and Vets into his late thirties. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.
Roy will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time.
