Biggleswade RUFC

Groundsman Graham has hoisted the Bedfordshire flag in honour of 28 November, the county day of Bedfordshire, which is the birthday of celebrated local son John Bunyan, author of A Pilgrim's Progress.

The flag's yellow and red quadrants are taken from the arms of the Beauchamp family, powerful in the county after the Norman conquest of England and constructors of Bedford Castle. The blue and white wavy lines symbolise the Great Ouse, which flows through the county. The three shells are taken from the coat of arms of the Duke of Bedford.
