Club facilities have been closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown, but following recent Government rule changes and updated RFU guidance, it has been agreed that the club pitch and car parking facilities will be opened to members for training from Monday 15 June 2020, subject to strict conditions.
To ensure a planned and co-ordinated approach is taken - and to mitigate risk - all coaches and members must have a clear understanding of the planning, spacing, and equipment requirements involved, which must be agreed to prior to the start of any training.
In order to assist with this, the club has appointed Andy Claypole as club co-ordinator. He will work with coaches to ensure risk management is carried out for each team/session and will also work with the club groundsman to ensure that the scheduling of pitches is managed in a suitable and sustainable way.
All head coaches will be contacted by Andy later this week and issued with detailed instructions and a booking process.
Please note:
- All training must follow a strict risk mitigation process, must be pre-booked by team head coaches, and must be scheduled.
- The pitches must not be used without prior approval by any member or team.
- The pitch allocated and the time allocated must be adhered to.
- The clubhouse remains closed, so there will be no toilet or changing facilities.
We are sure that many members will be pleased with the news that some form of training can take place, and hope everyone understands the need for a system to allow this to take place safely. We would also ask that club members wait for their team's coaches to contact them with further details.
