Biggleswade's Senior teams helped honour rugby player Jack Jeffery over the weekend, as they took part in a minute's applause before kick-offs and retired each side's No 11 shirt for the weekend.

Jack, from London, aged 27 (playing in the No 11 position), died after a serious injury on the rugby pitch after scoring a try  for Evesham Rugby Club earlier this month. His family have expressed their gratitude for clubs across the country for making their gestures of support in his memory, and Biggleswade RUFC would like to send them our sympathy.

Thank you to all our players and those from opposition sides who took part in the tribute. It is important to remember that such events are extremely rare in the game. It is also good to see the rugby community showing solidarity and respect in this way. RIP Jack.
