Friendly faces old and new gathered together at Biggleswade RUFC's Langford Road ground today to help make the Matt King Memorial Game a great success.
The rain held off for the charity match, played between Biggleswade Senior Men's Team and a guest side made up of former Biggy players and teammates from Matt's other clubs at higher and professional levels.
It was a fitting tribute to Matt, a former Biggleswade Minis and Youth player who died last year at the age of 33 after leading an extraordinary and inspiring life (read our earlier article here to find out about some of his achievements).
The crowd, made up of current and former club members and friends, enjoyed an entertaining match played in good spirits, where the visitors' class proved a little too much for the Biggleswade side. Plenty of warming food and drink was consumed, lots of old memories were rekindled, and some new friendships formed. All money raised from the day will be going to Variety, The Children's Charity.

A huge thank you to all the organisers, volunteers, staff, players, sponsors, supporters and everyone who gave up their time to prepare for the day as well as helping at the event itself. A great deal of work goes on behind the scenes beforehand as well as on the day, and it is greatly appreciated.
