MATCH RESULT: Biggleswade 1st XV desperately wanted to finish their season with some silverware, but it wasn't to be as they finished runners-up in the Beds Cup.
The Biggy boys put up a valiant fight against visitors Ampthill Extras in the floodlit cup final on Friday night, backed by the supportive home crowd.
Ampthill were ahead by just 2 points at half time, leading 12-10, but a strong physical performance stretched their score in the second half, with a couple of big moments swinging the wrong way for Biggy.
A big shout out to Arran Pickering on his 100th 1st team cap.
Kudos too to captain Elliot Tunstall for leading from the front, and to Ajay Momi and Callum Ross, who both put in big physical performances after their recent East Mids call-up.
Well done to Ampthill for the win, and bad luck to Biggy, who will regroup and come back stronger next season. Thanks to everyone who turned up for a fantastic night of rugby - just a shame the result didn't go our way!
